As a WOC from the Caribbean, hydration, radiance, and maintaining that “island glow” is a non-noticeable for me, period! I recently came across this brand after watching a product review video on YouTube. Mine came oxidized, if it comes orange or darker- return it. Mine was pale orange so I just kept mine. The serum itself is very nice. It does leave the face slightly tacky but you should be putting sunscreen or a moisturizer on top of this product so that is actually a plus to help that stick nicely. The smell is AMAZING ITS SMELLS LIKE AMAZING CEREAL MILK and the smell made me excited to use it everyday. I didn’t notice a difference in my face but I’ve never noticed a difference no matter what vitamin c I try. I just keep using them to block pollution and strengthen my sunscreens ability.

It smells a bit like oranges – very lovely! Not irritating, which sometimes vitamin C serums can be for me – I think the galactomyces help. The glow is REAL. I was a die hard Goodal green tangerine serum girl, but this has converted me completely.

Admittedly I wasn’t knowledgeable about galactomyces, but I like the brand. I generally like fungi based products. I knew the vitamin C amount was less than I normally use. I thought maybe the galactomyces would compensate & brighten like vit C. The overall brightening was okay. Nothing outstanding, but ok. Probably better for someone starting with vitamin C products. However, this was a me issue because I misunderstood what I was getting until doing more research after initial use.
After doing research, this product had performed as it should & as advertised. That’s why I gave it 5 stars. Galactomyces is a fungi fermentation that’s supposed to help with hydration far more than it’s brightening effect. It’s been wonderful & I’m someone that used all sorts of hyaluronic acid, pathenol, etc. Compared to those water based hydrates, I soaks easily into skin leaving a glass finish. It plays wonderfully under those types of products, other serum, various moisturizers, sunscreen, & makeup. It’s so gentle that I’ve been able to use it on my upper & lower eyelids. I love it & will repurchase or seek more products that have the ingredient.
Everything I’ve bought by the Some By MI storefront has been legit. Their products come in tampering evident boxes that have the manufacturing & expiration date printed on the bottom. The various item consistencies & qualities are all normal.
