I chose this for my daughter who’s lips get chapped frequently, and who has sensitivities to certain synthetic ingredients. At first I liked that this didn’t come in plastic (I’m tired of making plastic watse), but in practice the carboard tube is terrible. It’s in three awkward pieces- the bottom cuff could have been glued on to keep the tube from flying apart when taking off the top. Also, the balm is already soaking oils into the carboard tube, and it’s starting to come apart.
The product must be pushed from the bottom of the tube, and pressed back down against the lips after applying. A finger is not needed to push the balm back down into the tube, when the area of application works just as well.
The balm itself smells very nice (vanilla mint), and my kid loves the way it makes her lips feel. She reports that it heals her chapped lips well, moisturizes them when they’re dry, and that it lasts a long time on her lips. It doesn’t feel waxy or sticky, and the scent is noticeable but not too strong.
I personally won’t use it since it has Stevia in the ingredients, and I react badly to stevia.
I think that the tube could use an overhaul, but the lip balm itself is just what my daughter wanted. No color, no strong flavors or sickly sweetness- just a nice balm to help her lips when they get dry and irritated.

I love this brand. I religiously purchase their lotions and face sprays. I was excited to get this since I have super dry lips in the desert. To my dismay, the packaging was horrible. When I attempted to open it, the top smashed into the product and it got all over my finger. it was almost liquid consistency and I cannot get my money back.

This product line was MUCH better in jars than it is in these cardboard tubes, in my opinion. The tube can be difficult to manage, both the outer “cover” and the “push up” functionality.
The product description under Important information/Directions needs to be updated to reflect that this is no longer a “large jar”.
I do still like the actual product, but I dislike the tube so much that when I start to reach for it, I’m like, “Nah. Let me just grab this other stuff”. I might see if I can find a small cosmetics jar to transfer this product to. For the price, I feel a bit cranky that I would need to do this.
I’ll be a customer again if they bring back the jars.
Bottom line: Product = good / Product Packaging = not good. Price not in line with what you get.

I had really high hopes for this product due to the ingredients used. Ive been using for 3 days and my top lip now has tiny bumps in certain places. Don’t really understand but i guess these ingredients aren’t agreeing with my skins chemistry.

Love the plastic-free packaging. Natural ingredients. Mild pleasant smell, not too banana-y. Not stinky like some shea can be. Keeps my smackers soft and supple…when I remember to use it.

I tend to get dry chapped lips, so I always carry chapstick with me. I’ve tried a plethora of brands and blends, and this Shea Terra chapstick is definitely one of the best. This organically made stick features African beeswax, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, and it’s paraben-free. It is VERY soothing when I put it on, and truly nourishes my lips keeping them moist for prolonged periods of time. My only complaint is the packaging. The balm comes in a cardboard tube, which does make it biodegrade, making it better for the environment when disposed of. However, it features a push mechanism in the bottom to expose the balm as needed. This is tricky, because if I’m not careful, too much balm is exposed. In order to get it back in, I have to push it down with my fingers. This makes a mess, and can result in a waste of balm. For the poor packaging design, I’ve deducted a star. Other than that, I would HIGHLY recommend Shea Terra Lip Balm.
