So I have to cut a lot of pills. I have a dog who suffers from seizures and he gets 3/4 of a pill because the cost difference from getting the meds in a convenience dose versus cutting them myself is more than 30%! He also gets a half tab of 2 other medications for of the same reason. He takes the 3/4 of a tablet three times a day! The joy of getting to cut those tabs in quarters is awesome!
Now… just like every other pill cutter I have ever used, the pills sometimes crumble more than I would like but not any more than with any other pill cutter I have used. The speed of being able to cut the quarters at one time instead of trying to maneuver the half pill back in the cutter and aligning it perfectly to cut it into fourths is just such a time save! Not to mention that you can cut two pills in half at the same time! I have hated cutting the pills so I usually only do a few days in advance and hope that when next they have to be cut Daddy is the one cutting the pills and maybe he’ll do enough to last a while. Now I have this cutter I don’t mind doing it myself, and honestly, it is so much easier.
There is a learning curve to this one though. It is really important that you get the hang of holding the stabilizing band tightly to hold the pill in place while pressing down firmly with the cutting part of the device. it takes a bit of practice. once you’ve got that figured out it is a breeze. I also have found that it works better if you wipe the blades between uses so that the cut is as clean as possible. I like this enough that I will be buying one for my mother in law and and second for us to take on trips.
I did not rate the accuracy nor easy to use as 5 stars because it’s not perfect cuts nor is it a piece of cake to use at first. It’s still the best I’ve used and I recommend it to anyone who can read and follow directions. If you want it to just be easy enough to use without reading the directions… well… chances are this was too long for you to read. But if you did and you do, just go for the normal cutter. because you will undoubtedly think this is flawed when the problem is you didn’t bother following the directions.

I’ve only tried it once on a larger tablet and it seemed to work well when cut into 4 parts. While a brush is included to brush off the blades after use, I wish you could somehow wash the blades also. It’s still good to have that option to cut a tablet in 4.

The ability to cut pills in 1/2 or 1/4 is a plus. Ability to cut two pills at one time, also nice. Ability to store the pills in within the same tool is another plus. BUT! The blade that cuts is not firm enough to cut straight on a larger pill. It will curve and often break off parts of the pull. If the blade was strengthened this would be a great product.

This pill splitter is the best one I’ve ever had! It’s easy to use, accurate and seems like it’s well made. The first time I used it, I wasn’t paying attention and ended up getting quarters instead of halves. The pill was oblong, and I was impressed that the quarters came out perfectly equal, even though it was a weird-shaped pill. Needless to say, all the halves are perfectly cut, no crumbs or chunks, and severely reduces the time I spend splitting pills! I would highly recommend!

This is a really cool idea, that needed better implementation. INstead of getting an expected quartered pill with maybe a smidge of powder in the margins, I get a fractured pill that looked much like what others have posted in their reviews. I have used this one time and I am already done with it.

One our my child’s medication is a tiny oval-shaped pill that needs to be cut into 1/4s. This is one of the few pill splitter that does that.
It does a really good job you if you align the pill just right. For someone like m husband, it could be a little challenging to do so with a tiny pill.
Pros –
– cuts well, mostly very clean cut (does not break pill up into powder)
– if you only need half-cuts, you can cut 2 pills at the same time
Cons –
– requires pill to be aligned very well and held in place, could be challenging with small pills
– the little blue “ring” in the middle that you turn to secure the pill in position for the cut. You have to hold on to that tight while pressing the top button for the actual cutting to take place. Could be “awkward” to do both at the same time. An easier locking mechanism would make this a 5 star.
Tips to for a good cut (from another reviewer) – you do have to use the brush to clean the blade often. It really does help with keeping the clean cut instead of crumbling the pill.
All in all this is a great pill cutter.

This is worth every penny and especially if you have kids! Although we tried to be very careful to keep our old non child proof pill cutter away in a safe place we still had an accident. This one can’t cut someone in any way as I tried to see if the blades would still cut when putting finger in and pressing down on the button but it does not! Easy and cuts nice in half or fourths! Love the storage area too.

Es un producto que compré para enviar a Cuba por tanto no lo probé yo, error que cometí pues mi suegra al usarlo se percató de que no funciona en algunos casos, por ejemplo la aspirina que es una pastilla muy pequeña se vuelve polvo dentro y lejos de picarla en 4 partes la devuelve triturada, sin hablar de que no caen en el recipiente sino que se quedan en el área de la cuchilla, funciona más o menos bien para pastilla un poco más grandes pero hace cortes muy irregulares, sinceramente recomiendo optar por otro producto q sea más funcional aunque tenga un precio mayor.
