This is a rather impressive kit. I’ve purchased a few of these in an effort to determine which would be best for travel. This kit has a “freezer” bottle, but also a back-up empty bottle you fill with ice water when your frozen one is thawing. It’s also a thermos bottle where most I’ve looked at are insulated cardboard/foil lined carriers. I think this is one that can handle longer trips and doesn’t take up any more room.

This is essentially just a regular drinking thermos with a nice carrying case. It works effectively to keep the contents at a consistent temperature for a really long time. if you wanted to use this to keep medicines cool it definitely works. That being said, you could also just use it for drinks or anything else that you would want a regular double walled vacuum bottle for.

This cooler travel case is nice to have around if you take medical shots regularly. It can come in handy in case you need to travel for a somewhat long period of time. This set comes with the things exactly as listed on the product photos: a thermometer to test inner and outer temperature to see how long the pens can stay inside before needing to be put in a fridge basing on the chart provided, reusable zippered case for storing everything, 1 gel ice pack, and 1 empty emergency ice pack to be used with cold water if gel pack is not ready, medical card and instructions. Instructions are simple to understand. Easy to use and clean. It can fit 2 Humira pens tightly at the same time. The bottle is made of stainless steel inside and out, and the outer surface is fingerprint resistant. Overall well made and works as expected.

As a general thermos, this seems fine. Keeps things cold for a couple days as advertised, the lid doesn’t leak, and it’s nice that there’s a thermometer though it only shows Celsius and stops a 0 degrees (32F).
My specific results:
I froze a gel pack and put it in the thermos with the thermometer and it quickly went to 2 degrees Celsius/35F at 11pm on a Thursday. 24 hours later at 11pm on Friday, still 2C/35F. Another 24 hours later at 11pm on a Saturday, still 2C/35F. Another 12 hours later at 11am on Sunday, it was 5C/41F. Another 6 hours later at 5pm Sunday it was 10C/50F. So still cool, but getting to be too warm for medicine. Basically 2.5 days of cold medicine storage temperature. All of this is assuming the thermometer is accurate.

Overall, this is a nice set for keeping medications cool. It has been working just fine for me for day-long use. No complaints.
PERFORMANCE
I haven’t had any issues with the insulated bottle for day excursions. The bottle is made well with good insulation. That’s with the gel-filled freeze pack, though. I haven’t used the emergency bottle because I haven’t needed to and it doesn’t perform as well as their pre-filled one.
INSULATED BOTTLE
It’s similar to an insulated bottle that you’d use for drinks. It is very sturdy and well-made. The lid screws on and unscrews easily.
COLD PACKS
The one is a standard pre-filled freeze pack. It holds its temperature very well. The instructions say to put it in the freezer for 6 hours. Then take it out and leave it at room temperature for 3-5 minutes. Then put it into the insulated bottle for 10 minutes along with the included thermometer to make sure that it’s down to temperature. When it’s 2°C, you can use the bottle for your medication. There is a warning about not leaving it in the freezer for longer lest it deform, but the instructions also say that it “can be restored to its original state after one use.” I’m not sure how much to worry about leaving it in the freezer for longer.
The other cold pack is just for emergencies and you’re supposed to find your own water at 2°C to fill it with. I can see how it would be handy if you’re out and you can buy some cold bottled water somewhere but don’t have access to a fridge. They estimate that the cold water will only stay cool enough for about 5 hours. I haven’t tried this one and hope never to, but the concept makes sense and could save your medication as long as you have a place to buy water. I’m not sure what temperature bottled water is normally sold at, though, so I don’t even know how feasible it would be in an emergency.
THERMOMETER
It’s handy to have a thermometer to make sure that the insulated bottle is keeping the proper temperature, but the thermometer is only in °C. It also seems to be made of glass. It should be fine for me considering how it’s being kept in the bottle and it does have a protective plastic sleeve, but concern about it breaking is in the back of my mind.
POUCHES
The carrying case is nothing too special, but it is handy for storing the bottle. It has a thin fleece interior and a pleather exterior. There is also a velveteen bag that you can put your medication inside to keep all the medicine together and protect it a bit. I’m not convinced that it will actually protect the insulin from freezing, but since it’s included with the set, might as well make use of it.
