I am a lip balm snob. I had chapped lips from childhood until I was about 45 so I have tried a “bazillion” different lip remedies. I found one brand that I especially liked (and of course, it was expensive) that I used for several years then they quit making it. So I went back on the hunt and tried O’Keeffes. It was a little waxier than I was used to, but I got over it. In fact, now I like that feeling of protection. It doesn’t really have a taste, but more importantly, it doesn’t have a BAD taste. I don’t like flavored lip balm either, because then I am always licking my lips which makes my lips chapped. I especially appreciate the higher level of SPF than you find in most other brands. Between the level 70 SPF I wear on my face and lips when I am working outside, and O’Keeffe’s 35 SPF, I never get sunburned lips. And the 35 is enough for everyday use when I am in and out of the house. Finally, and just as important to me as the other features, O’Keeffe’s is the first manufacturer (that I’ve found) to flatten its tube so it fits in your pants pocket more easily. I haven’t lost a tube of O’K’s out of my jeans because of its “engineering.” Can’t say that about several of the other brands I’ve used through the years. Overall, I am very happy that I stumbled upon this brand of lip balm.

I have super sensitive lips that always seem to be peeling. I started lip basting using Waleda Skin Food according to a famous YouTuber and could not figure out why my lips were on the brink of bleeding! That hasn’t happened in a looooong time. Turns out I’m very sensitive to lanolin products on my lips. This has been a godsend occlusive type lip balm to wear in the Arizona sun with a high SPF. This stuff is thick so if that’s not your jam, keep looking. But if you love that like I do, this will quickly become a favorite like it has for me XOXO

I’m horrible about checking pockets come laundry day. I have what I call “the bin of doom” on top of my dryer where all the items I have accidentally washed, and therefore subsequently dried that SHOULDNT be getting washed go to die. I try to use it as a reminder to check pockets. I still never do. But Half of the Bin of Doom’s contents are melted lip balm tubes. Sometimes they’re salvageable. Sometimes they just fall apart completely and cannot be saved. I leave lip balm in the car constantly and I live in the south. Those tubes melt SO quick. But I’ve had this 2 pack in use for 3.5 months now and haven’t had to sacrifice a single one to the BoD. I’ve washed/dried both tubes numerous times. I was in Hawaii for 3 weeks for work and left them in the rental car, my backpack. Basically everywhere. And they have withstood the test of time. They keep my lips soft and kept them safe from the sun in Hawaii as a lot of my work is outdoors. The orange scent/flavor is just right. Not overwhelming or gross like other companies have. Definitely a huge feat for me. Will be purchasing again!

Reviewing products is something I’ll typically skip, but I just wanted to share this in case other people had similar issues with finding a good lip balm.
I was struggling with chronically chapped lips to the point where food was making my lips inflamed and puffy for what felt like months. I had tried every organic unscented and inorganic product imaginable. I put this stuff on and seriously after 2 or 3 days my lips felt normal and smooth.
It feels nice, it’s not grossly scented, and to be honest it was worth the money. Will be buying from now on 🙂
