seemed great when i first started taking it, but not even halfway through the bottle (at one capsule per day) i began experiencing severe persistent hangover-like symptoms despite the fact that i don’t drink alcohol. basically felt like i was being poisoned for over a week. i stopped the supplement and increased my hydration/electrolyte intake, and it still took several days for the hangover to subside. i was finally feeling better so i tried re-adding the supplement while maintaining hydration/electrolyte levels, and the hangover feeling immediately returned. i’ve taken regular NAC as well as glycine, selenium, etc for years and have never experienced this. i do have significant body burden and impaired detox at multiple levels. so maybe this supplement works well but isn’t right for me since my body can’t eliminate toxins efficiently.

Price is competitive and product renews glutathione very well. Make sure you stay within recommended doses as you can overdose yourself on the molybendium and zinc that are added to the supplement.

Starting as 4 star because I like what I’ve researched so far. I will update this after I’ve taken it for a month.
I’ll start by saying, I take regular N-Acetyl L-Cystine (NAC) regularly as suggested by my doctor. For me, NAC is for boosting my immune system and for liver protection. As I said, reading about how this is a high-bioavailable version of NAC – I have some high expectations for this. Also happy to see there’s Selenium in it (something I should be taking for the thyroid)
I did find it curious that it also has vanillin, peppermint, clove, and parsley listed in the ‘other ingredients’. I suppose to offset the natural sulfur-y smell of NAC. I’ll only be taking 1 capsule a day (50mg) as a replacement to my regular NAC (at 600mg). And, as I said, I’ll update my rating and comment if I see any changes.
Edit to update:
So far so good. Still gives me the same boost as regular NAC. I will note 2 things: with NAC you do want to drink more water otherwise you might start feeling some aching in your kidneys. This is true of regular NAC and seems to also be the case for this. (Yeah, I need to drink more water.) IF you are off-put by the smell I do suggest making sure you have a pill holder. Don’t just open this bottle up and shake out a pill. Put it in a pill holder. The scent won’t be that bad that way and makes it easier to take if the smell is that bothersome. Updating to 5 stars. Happy with this product and will purchase NACET instead of regular NAC.

This seems to be a good form of NAC. Has worked well for me and I think is a bit cleaner feeling than regular NAC which can make me feel just a slight bit off at times.

This product is the second product I’ve tried which contains N-acetyl cysteine ethyl ester (NACET), the first product being Nature’s Fusions Neuro-NAC. On a per capsule basis, both products claim the same ingredients in the same volumes, except for glycine, with Neuro-NACET containing 50mg more glycine per capsule. As with Neuro-NAC, Neuro-NACET claims 20x greater bioavailability compared to NAC. A couple years ago while experimenting with about a dozen different nootropic products, I discovered that I needed the glycine amino acid after trying Life Enhancement Blast Caps. Because LIfe Enhancement Blast Caps ended up being the only nootropic which worked for me, I came to the conclusion that this must be due to two ingredients not found in any of the other nootropics: phenylalanine and glycine. While I’m not clear about the connection between glycine and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), I started taking NAC a year or so ago alongside other supplements I typically take when working to boost my immune system (C, D3, Zinc, and Colostrum), and I find the bundling of these supplements to be convenient. I’m not seeing as many reviewers here complain about the “rotten egg smell” like Neuro-NAC, but there are a couple, including one who commented that “there is no way that I could put something that smells like rotting garbage in my mouth or stomach…I can imagine burping up that horrid smell for hours after taking.” While I initially didn’t smell the same NACET smell as Neuro-NAC, I can smell it when holding the Neuro-NACET bottle close to my nose. In checking the “other ingredients” on the product labeling, I see that vanillin, peppermint, clove, and parsley were added, the same as Neuro-NAC, but Neuro-NAC describes these bundled together as “essential oils” on the product labeling, unlike Neuro-NACET which spells each of these out. I agree with another Neuro-NAC reviewer that it has a “God awful smell”, but the smell is barely noticeable with Neuro-NACET. All of this said, Nature’s Fusion has a pending patent on NACET, so I recommend it instead of this product, despite the higher cost for purportedly almost exactly the same ingredients.
