I have to travel for up to several months, so I load my Pillsteers with my multiple pills rather than take bottles of pills on the road. I have been delighted with Pillsteer for such this and for daily use. The compartments are generous and have generous capacity and easy retrieval of the pills. The Pillsteer is sturdy, with excellent hinge arrangement and lids that snap securely shut, but do not open by accident – in a suitcase or otherwise. The colors show night and day, and the compartments are clearly marked with each day. This is a simple, solid, quality, pill case, well-designed and constructed. I have been most pleased with the Pillsteer and its great qualities and handy convenience.

Latches require a bit more force than I expected — This makes for a good pillbox, but I would not recommend it for people with arthritis who might have trouble applying enough pressure to press the levers properly.

Jan 2021 Update: Pillsteer saw my 3-star review which stated I was disappointed because one of the pop-up mechanisms broke when I dropped the pill organizer. They reached out to me, saying they offer free replacements and asked if they could send me one. I said yes, and they promptly sent me a new one. So I have increased my rating to 5 stars, knowing that if anything goes wrong, Pillsteer will give you a free replacement.

Original review: I absolutely loved the Pillsteer weekly 2-times-per-day pill organizer when I first purchased it. It was bigger and seemed sturdier than any pill organizer I had previously purchased. Unfortunately, the pill organizer was dropped on the floor (as happens occasionally), and one of the pop-up mechanisms on one compartment broke. We taped it, so it is still usable, but the one lid doesn’t pop up anymore when you push down on the tab. So, apparently, the pill organizer is not as sturdy as I had originally thought, which is disappointing.
That said, I still like the dispenser and am ordering another. This large pill organizer is approximately 9 x 4.5 x 1”, with each compartment measuring about 1.25 x 1.25 x 0.75”. The compartment lids have large, easy-to-read print and are clear so you can see what is inside. The compartments are easy to open (simply push a tab) and close, and stay securely closed. The organizer is divided into 2 sections, yellow for morning and purple for evening. They are held together by a plastic tray underneath, but the 2 sections can be removed from the tray, separating them into a morning organizer and an evening organizer. The dispenser is made of food grade/BPA free/FDA approved plastic. It is made in China.

It’s a little bigger than I needed, but it fits those giant omega 3 supplements, so it works out. The best thing about this is that the bottom and sides of the pill organizer are colored, not just white, which makes it much easier for me, a vision impaired person to see the pills inside of it, even on the yellow side. It also has spring loaded tops that lock closed pretty well, so if you tend to drop things, it probably won’t burst open and scatter your pills everywhere. Definitely well worth ordering

For a premium priced item, this purchase was a huge disappointment. While it worked well for the a few weeks, it broke after less than 60 days of use. Buyer beware… more does not always mean better.

Looked long and hard for a good pillbox that would handle all of my a.m. and p.m. pills. This particular fits all of my criteria: (1) different colors for morning/evening, (2) large containers for “oversized” pills, (3) secure latches to keep pills intact when traveling, (4) clear tops so that you can view the pills, and (5) durable plastic to withstand the occasional drop.
I also like that you can switch out the lids. If they are kept in the container, they have to be used “back-to-back” because the a.m. side is labeled Sun – Sat and the p.m. side is labeled Sat – Sun so that they match up. If you want to pull them out of the container and place one on top of the other, you can easily change the p.m. side labels (to match the Sun – Sat labels on the a.m. side) so that they read the same way when you are looking directly at both sets of cases.
This pillbox is a “little” pricier than some of the others, but it also has more features and appears to be well-built, so I think it is an excellent value.

I love that this doesn’t easily pop open. It really latches well! My mom tested it and was happy since she’s accidentally opened her old one and had pills go every where. You have to press harder for the latch to release. Also, the little doors pop up! They’ll stay up easily for filling up the containers! I really loved that since I now don’t have to use sandwich clips to keep the pill organizer open. The color coding is great too! No more getting confused between day and night time pills. This is so much easier! I wrote on the sides my parents names so that they can tell which one belongs to the other. There’s enough space on the end to write a name on the white part of the base. That was our solution to having two containers. I wrote their initials on the yellow tabs so that it’s obvious which case mom is looking at from the top. It’s light enough that I could do that. You’ll definitely like this pill case! I’m so happy I got it while it was on sale!!!
I wanted to update my review. I’m now in April which is months after I bought these for my parents. My mom is incredibly happy. They are holding up well. The definitely don’t pop open on her and the nice part is it’s easy to avoid getting confused between night and day. These are holding up well and seem very durable. You will be happy to get these.
