I’ll be honest, I got these because I thought it’d be funny to say I got Vive in my blood. (I’m a long time VR enthusiast.) However, my wife is diabetic, so these won’t go to waste. We tested with these Vive brand strips 2 times so far and tested against a sample from an earlier kit from Kroger’s HealthPro brand which we had been using for almost a year. I was honestly worried these wouldn’t be compatible with other brands at all, but from our limited test comparisons, these strips are totally compatible with our AccuCheck brand monitor and also give very similar results. We also think they’d be compatible with Contour brand since the strips look similar, but that’s just a guess. I’ll update this review if we test with any other devices later on, but these strips work.

This is a really nice glucose tester. It comes fully ready to go, with strips contained in an airtight plastic container and a set of lancets to place in the finger lancer. I like that it comes with a case, making it easy to travel.
The good:
1) Seems to be accurate and takes a reading quickly. To test the product, I lanced three times in a row to check the stability of the meter, and all three readings were within 1% of the baseline reading.
2) The lance has a nice spring loaded deployment and an adjustable depth. Mine poked my finger just fine at a setting of 3, but needed to go to 4 to test from my upper arm. I like that I can set the number based on where I am sampling the blood so I don’t have to do exploratory poking to hit blood.
3) The Vive app pairs pretty easily with my android phone via bluetooth, and using it, you can track your glucose levels over time.
The not-as-good:
1) The Vive app is cluttered with a bunch of other health services, which is annoying if you just want to check your blood sugar. But you can re-order the apps to place the glucose on top, so it isn’t all bad, and I have not gotten any “upselling” solicitation from Vive, so this is not a major problem.
2) I don’t know how to get more strips or lancets. I wish I could easily find out how to get them, cuz’ if I check my sugar levels 3 or 4 times a day, I will run out quickly. Perhaps I can get replacements through the vive app?
Anyway, this is a pretty nice blood sugar monitoring system. More details in my video review ❤️
I hope you find my review helpful!

I purchased this glucose monitor to spot check my glucose levels. I feel the measurements are probably pretty accurate, however I was only able to have the time correct for the first time I used it. It has now changed to another month, date and time and I can not get it back to the correct date. Also, I followed the instructions and downloaded the app, but it will not save any data to the app. While I am glad to have the ability to check my glucose levels, I am disappointed that all the features don’t work properly.

These test strips are wonderful. They test quickly and accurately, simple and effective!

100 test strips for a great value. I use this in my VIVE monitor and have had no issues with the fit or readings. Compared to another monitor and lab results, this has fallen within the same ranges.
I could highly recommend these test strips.

While I give kudos to the product team for writing the manual in English (instead of a bad machine translation), it really was not clear. I had such a hard time with it. The diagram showing where the test strip goes has an arrow pointing to the wrong place. There is no instruction about which side of the test strip to put into the machine. The instructions in the manual for syncing the app to the machine are completely wrong (but they were correct in the app itself). The manual says to push the blue button on the lancet to get the needle to pop up, but there is no blue at all on the device. And many more things like this.
Once I figured it out, it wasn’t hard to use. And it seems to work with only a bit of blood on the test strip (unlike my old machine where I’d average 2 pokes and strips per reading).
I like that the machine comes with a compact case with a good zipper that holds everything you need (except the manual, which doesn’t fit). We get a lancet, needles, test strips, and batteries too. In theory the app will keep track of my test results, though it did not transfer over the one I did before syncing, which is annoying.
The one thing that I don’t know how to solve is how to get more test strips and needles. There isn’t anything I saw in the manual about what sizes or types, it just says to buy from the manufacturer (all the manufacturers say that of course). But on the listing page, there’s nothing at all about where to get more supplies and they aren’t in the seller’s Amazon store either. Since I only have enough supplies for 25 tests, I hope I can figure that out soon.
