There’s nothing worse than needing some cold medicine at 11pm and not having it. No more! I’m now stocked for 2 years. Is it a lot? Sure. Will I use it all? Maybe not. But it’s way better than going to the drug store six times for a $20 box of the same medicine. And I’m still several hundred doses ahead.
I have taken a few from this and feel it is exactly like the big store brands.

This is my 2nd purchase from this brand. My first was for famotidine for acid reflux and it’s now my preferred brand after trying all the others, including Costco and Sam’s brand which are always top notch. The Curist makes the pills about half the size and at an even better price and they work great…clear winner. So when I saw they make a generic version of mucinex I jumped on it. Once again they managed to make it a smaller pill (they’re still big) and at a better price. This is something I like to have just in case and fortunately haven’t needed to use them yet. So very happy to find them from this brand I trust.

My family goes through a lot of Guaifenesin. It and pseudophedrine are our go-to meds for dealing with congestion, and we deal with a lot of congestion. I was thrilled to see I had an option to get some through Vine, since this saves money in itself.
Now, generic medications like this are required to go through FDA approval to verify they have the same components as the brand name and other generic medications. There should be no difference in effectiveness. You can check if the FDA has approved of a medication by looking up its NDC code on the FDA website.
The Curist has approved NDC codes for a 200mg Guiafenesin tablet, BUT it is not the same NDC code that’s on this bottle. When I contacted them, they had nothing to say about why the NDC code on this bottle, 72559-017-23, is not listed with the FDA.
It’s weird. However, the Curist did say this was their listing, and that we can trust the contents to be what they claim to be.
On that note, this is a lot of Guiafenesin for a much more reasonable price than the brand name of the same quantity, and while this particular bottle doesn’t have a valid NDC code, the company that makes it has a proper NDC code for a different quantity of the same med. Basically, it’s minimal sketchiness for something that’s not lining up properly. For all I know, the FDA’s just behind on updating things.
I look forward to using this when I’m sick, and I’ll keep checking the FDA site to see if the NDC code thing ever gets straightened out.

Just checked again. The NDC code for this is now listed with nih.gov. All should be good. Whew!

This is a helpful product when you’re dealing with a lot of congestion. It’s probably a larger supply than our family will go through before the expiration date in about 18 months.
The tablets are largish but not huge. I haven’t noticed any particular smell or taste. Take with plenty of water, but it doesn’t matter if you take them with food or not.

The pills were easy to swallow and not too big, though they aren’t small either. There’s a lot of them for the price, which is good. They seem to work fine. I take them regularly for consistent head congestion. So far I have no complaints.
PDP –
About two to three times per year I end up with chest and sinus congestion simply due to whatever germ is being passed around at the time. I’ve been using guaifenesin for many years during those times, but this is the first time I’ve seen this particular brand. The 600mg strength seems very suitable for my needs, and I appreciate that these are an extended release formula which could last up to 12 hours. Something else I appreciate and applaud the manufacturers for is that these tablets aren’t made with any dyes. They’re just plain white tablets. The pill size is easy for me to swallow, and I can put a few of these in a small pill case for when I travel. If I should have any further feedback or insights to share after using these pills, I’ll be sure to update this review. For now, I have no reason not to give these five stars.

This is a LOT of meds! The expiration stamped on the bottom is about 18 months out from the time I ordered them so keep that in mind.
These are medium sized tablets, reasonably easy to swallow. They don’t upset my stomach and I did not experience any negative effects. I believe they are effective for their stated purpose!
PDP –
A great price on a large quantity of the generic version of Mucinex.
I’ve not taken Mucinex before, but the idea of a non-drowsy non stimulant cold medicine is appealing.
If you have a large family or are an institutional medicine buyer this quantity might make sense (or is that cost less Cents?)
But 300 doses of a 12 hour medicine, that’s pushing it for only a 19 month shelf life.
