This cold sore fever blister treatment for face or lips is a 10% Docosanol treatment. I usually use Zovirax, so this will be awesome to have on hand. This comes in a 4 pack kit. I only get cold sores a few times a year so I definitely won’t use all of this before the expiration date but I have also found with these creams that they last a very long time so I feel comfortable having this around longer.
These come in tiny tubes that are .07 ounces in size. Each tube is about the size of a finger. Having several tubes of this allows you to put this in your car, in the medicine cabinet, in your bag, in the whatever you need it for as cold sores are very painful and you never know when they’re going to come. I have found these little tubes like this are pretty normal for this product. Very happy to have this around.
The texture of this is very thick cream and I would suggest to apply it thick. I apply this and when I notice that there isn’t anymore, I put more on. The key to this stuff seems to be keeping it on consistently. The only time I wouldn’t have this on is when I’m eating but after I’m done eating I’m putting more on.
The value on this, I think buying it in this larger quantity, you save quite a bit of money. The price for this type of cream across the board seems to be all over the place and find this to be in the lower cost per tube when you break it down. Giving the sheer amount and quantity that you get for the cost a decent value and in the lower cost of this product at the time of this review and in my opinion.
Overall I’m super happy to have this on hand when I need it. Having a few tubes allows me to place this in places that I would be without having to worry about it. I would have no problem recommending this to somebody else.

I just got over a cold sore when this arrived, so I haven’t been able to try it for that specific purpose yet. Typically I use a menthol-based cream which is cooling and soothing, but it’s great to discover there’s something that can actually speed up healing. The only downside is that the tubes have a short shelf life (one year from manufacture). Each is sealed, so I’ll see if they’ll retain effectiveness by using one at a time.

This treatment is very similar to the A-brand I’m sure most of us use when we feel that cold sore feeling coming on. I like the value for 4 tubes of this, although as other reviewers said, make note of the expiration date! I thankfully do not get many cold sores but I ordered this to have medication around for when one surprisingly and unwelcomely shows up. I will never go through 4 of these tubes before the end of the year, but I guess it’s good peace of mind that they’re in my arsenal if one pops up. The cream is white and somewhat thick, just like the name brand, and the tube size is about the same.

We use docosanol cream for when we feel like we are getting a cold sore (prevent it from progressing) or when we got one and need to quicken the healing process. So, it is something we keep on hand even though it is rarely used. 1 of these from more known brands tends to run nearly $20 a tube, so having 4 of these for $40 is much cheaper and is on par with other generic brands. Best to buy when it is on sale and is even greater of a deal.

Similar to *Abr$va, this product contains the active ingredient Docosanol Cream 10%. Instructions are almost the same to apply up to 5x daily at the first tingle/sign of a fever blister.
Value wise, this hits a homerun although I do wish the expiration date was longer than 11 months from now as my tubes were printed. Four tubes may be overkill in this timeframe. Savings calculated compared to name brand at greater than 25% discount.
This rating is based on tube claims alone as I have no current need to use this product at the moment. We like to keep it on hand for quick access as the sooner you apply, the better effect. I will update my review if the product does not perform as well as *Abr$va.

This stuff (docosanol) is great. I get cold sores every so often, so I can tell what it feels like once I have one coming on before I actually see the sore on my lips.
In the past I’ve used name brand docosanol, and this stuff is no different from the name brand (except that this version is much more affordable).
In order to make the most of this, you really have to be preemptive and use it the moment you start feeling a cold sore coming on (that itchy feeling around your lip line, and pain that feels like a new pimple).
The docosanol seems to minimize the amount of time I have the noticeable blister on my lip.
The thing is, you don’t need to apply that much of this cream, so although getting 4 of these in one pack is a great deal, the batch I got expires in Dec 2025, so I won’t be able to use it all in time. I’d recommend this one if you’re just getting the 1-pack, not 4.

Works as well as the major name brand item at a much reduced cost. Good to keep in a medicine supply cabinet for emergency use.

I rate things as follows, 3 star means it is neither a fantastic standout product, (5-*) nor a terrible product(1-*).
This product, it is the type of product you want to have on hand for when you feel that tingle, or that burn.
The sooner you get the active ingredient on a cold sore, the shorter the duration and less severe the outbreak may be.
Having four boxes is handy, have one at home, one at work, one in the studio. But these, they expire this December just ten months from when i picked up the cream.
So these get dinged a star for that
I’ve had ok luck with OTC generic or store brand Docosanol in the past. I expect the same with this product.
I just wish i had more time before it expires
