I have forgotten my glucose meter several times when packing for trips (my meter is in the kitchen, while I pack in the bedroom), so I decided to get a second meter to keep in my travel kit. I already use a larger Bioland meter for every day, so I wanted to stay with the brand so I can use the same strips for either meter.
This meter is a nice size, perfect for travel. The kit comes with 100 test strips, 100 lancets, and a lancing device. The kit includes 2 AAA batteries for the meter, and I appreciate the fact that it uses standard batteries instead of the smaller, and harder to find, coin batteries.
One amazing bonus of this meter is that Bioland has the most comfortable lancing devices I have ever used. They are adjustable, and seem to be spring-loaded so they almost bounce off my finger–breaking the skin but in a really painless way. Other lancing devices I have used seem to slam into your finger while these just get the job done without a lot of pain.
It is difficult to get too excited about a glucose meter, but if you need one it is nice to have one that is simple and gets the job done. This meter is exactly that. The measurement is quick, and very closely matches the results from my other meter so I am confident in its accuracy. I am very happy with this purchase!
