I do travel a lot for work purposes and I am a Lupus patient and I use Benlysta. This medication needs to be refrigerated and this tumbler was definitely a Game Changer. It preserved the cold for 16hr straight and if I would of left it there I believe it could preserved it for longer.
If you do need any medications that needs to be maintained refrigerated while traveling definitely a must have.

This is great for keeping your meds chilled while you are traveling. It served me well in tropical Costa Rica.

This worked well to keep my medicine vial cold during my travel. For our outbound trip, I had figured roughly 8 hrs, but due to airline delays, it ended up being 11 hours before we got to the hotel room and I could unpack it. Contents were still very cold. For the return trip, I did not have access to a freezer, so I submerged the gel pack into a bucket of ice overnight and hoped it would last long enough. With flight delays again, the medicine was in the pack a total of 18 hrs before we got home (roughly 4-6 hrs more than intended). The medicine was only barely chilled, but luckily it was cool enough to still be okay. If I had been able to actually freeze the gel pack, it likely would have been good for at least 24 hours, if not more.

Works really well. Stays cold for a long time. I took it on an international flight and it kept my medicine nice and cold as required.

I might leave 3.5 stars if i could. My main complaint is that the thermometer isn’t accurate – and that is why I purchased this particular model – for the peace of mind. I was traveling to a very warm and humid place over the course of more than 15 hours of car/plane/car travel. The thermometer seems to read (in part) the space at the top of the cooler + the external environment. When I was in the air-conditioned plane, for example, it remained low. As soon as I was out in the landscape/rental car (and well under 10 hours) the thermometer climbed alarmingly and I was searching around the airport for ice. It seems, however that the internal temperature of the cooler remained cold – when I went to change the ice pack, it was still very much frozen.
To use the dated expression: that sucked. I still don’t really know if my medication was compromised. I was sure to keep it cold – but when I added ice to the top, the thermometer dropped below the recommended storage temp. I was hoping to keep things discrete but tending to this thing, (my first time, yes) became the central concern as I was traveling.
So. The thing does seem to be well insulated. But the thermometer is kind of like a useless decoration.
