This is a nice, portable cooler box that can be used to store insulin (and other small things) that require it to be cold.
Alise –
This cooler is heavy and bulky in size, but the inside space is rather small. It’s not really portable, but for home use only. Moreover, in order to keep the insulin cool, I do need to add some ice packs, and I dislike that the temperature is only showing in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. It’s not suitable for travel due to the weight and material, which don’t add any protection to the insulin. Overall, it does keep the insulin pens cool and in place.

I used to use those bags with gel ice packs to keep my medicine cold when travelling. I did not know there are USB/battery powered coolers like this. I tried it and to my surprise it works really well. It came with two batteries and can also be used with USB power banks. It makes it perfect for travelling. In the airplane I can use the USB outlet from my seat to power it and when at the airport I can use the built-in battery. It’s very clever design. It’s a little bulky and larger than I would like but still it’s very useful.

This is a great cooler to have when traveling. Good quality and keeps items at a cool temperature.

This little cooler is both small and compact. It does make a little noise but it’s not bad you can barely hear it. All in all it does a great job keeping meds and skincare products cool. I have insulated coolers that I feel are better and less cumbersome for short trips, but for long drives and/or with extended hotel stays, this works wonderfully. Just plug into the car on the drive, and plug in at the hotel. It makes travel with meds less worrysome and finding refrigeration on longer trips a non-issue. I would recommend to a friend.

Diabetic Mini Cooler Box Portable Insulin Cooler Box for Insulin Pens & Skincare with Celsius Temperature LED Display Screen Keeping Cooling 2~8℃ (S)
I used this portable insulin pen cooler when we had house guests and I didn’t want them to know that I was administering shots to myself multiple times a day. I left it plugged in in my bedroom and kept all my needles there as well, there was no evidence in the kitchen fridge.
As far as the portability is concerned, yes it is easily portable. However, the battery only lasts a little over three hours. You can’t really tell how much time is left on the battery, as the indicator doesn’t seem to change, it just shuts off when it runs out. It would be nice if you could tell when it’s going to run out, an audible indicator would be really great so you could be aware and switch out the batteries or find an outlet or icebox so you don’t lose your medication.
One other gripe: I can’t change the display to fahrenheit! I think you’re supposed to be able to switch from Celsuis, but there is no mention of it in the instruction manual, and I haven’t been able to figure it out.

The mini cooler is marketed as portable, yet it’s quite hefty. The storage space is small relative to its overall size. It cools down to zero degrees Celsius (32 Fahrenheit) rapidly, taking only 19 minutes to drop from 27 degrees Celsius (80 Fahrenheit) to zero, though there’s no way to confirm the accuracy of this temperature. On a full charge, the battery maintains the cooler at 0 degrees Celsius for three and a half hours, but the battery indicator is unreliable—it showed three bars right before the cooler shut off unexpectedly. On the plus side, it includes an additional battery for replacement.

This cooler is heavy and large, considerating it is for insulin. The storage space is a tiny portion of the cooler, length 7 5/16″, width 2 3/8″ and height 1″. No fasteners to keep insulin in place. The metal plate on the bottom of the storage seems to be the part that get cold. The temperature reading is only in Celsius. There is a discrepancy in the model number between the manual and the actual cooler. The cooler would need to be protected but the fabric carrying case is not padded at all. Also the carrying case has no slots for the chargers. To me, this is not practical for travel. The heavy and large lithium batteries would need to be carried with. And the lack of padded case makes traveling a non-starter. A much more practical cooler would be a soft case that uses ice packs. I had ordered one before. It had a temperature display in Fahrenheit and the case was light and very padded with lots of space for insulin and other things with built-in fasteners. No need to carry batteries and chargers and it was usable for hot and cold for a fraction of the price of this heavy clunky cooler.
