This myLAB Box at Home Heart Health Test Cholesterol Level Test was mostly solid. When you first open it, it’s a bit intimidating getting a bunch of items inside this little package. After reading and re-reading the instructions, you will notice that there are actually two different tests that you must complete with blood samples. I honestly almost missed one of the tests and you should be aware and read everything in the package. In the kit, you MUST get two different blood samples – one has a saturation strip, the other has little squares you drop blood on a few times.
Luckily, the kit does indeed come with two blood sample packs that will clean then prick your finger. I had the help of my spouse to prick me so doing this by yourself can be tough. One tip: prick the edge/side of your finger and not directly in the middle!
After I got my blood samples, I sealed them in the provided cardboard box (save it) and envelope and affixed the pre-paid USPS Ground Advantage postage. I recommend you physically drop this off at the Post Office and get a receipt to ensure faster delivery back to MyLAB. I just dropped mine off inside the Post Office without confirming a scan and it took 9 calendar days to get to MyLAB, just shy of the 2-10 day window of USPS Ground Advantage.
Once the lab received my test, it took them 3 days to upload the results in my MyLAB account I needed to create which was all free. The test showed pretty accurate A1C and Cholesterol levels and provides a PDF version you can discuss with your primary care physician. The results just stop short of offering advice which makes sense.
I did have concerns on how this private company would use my information, and at a general glance, their privacy policy seems sound and it’s a USA-based company. I did more research thinking they need to state HIPAA laws, but it turns out private labs like MyLAB do not need to abide by HIPAA. I hope my information is safe.
For $99, it’s pricey but if you don’t have insurance then this is not too bad, and maybe you come out saving money depending on your situation.

I am impressed with the results of this home test. I had a hard time drawing blood and was only able fill two of the circles for the test but Mylabbox was still able to give me results. There were two lancets included and I did use both. I had cholesterol testing and two other tests that gave me greater insight into my heart health which was very helpful.

The test was easy enough to take and mail back. However, the company takes a very long time to run the test. They’ve now had my test for 13 days and I’ve yet to get a result. Customer service has been useless. There are surely better options for these very standard blood tests.

Instructions could be a little better but overall no complaints. Took a little under two weeks from mailing in to getting results. Results are in range with my annual physical bloodwork.
I would give it 5 stars but the price is a bit high for what you get. You can get a lipid panel done at most of the big labs for around $60 without needing to visit your physician if that’s an issue, you can order it directly on their website and make an appointment with their local office for the blood draw. For $99 yes, you get a bit of convenience being able to do it at home, and no blood draw, but still feels high.

The original order/description page says that you will get results in 2-5 days, and it offers free 2 day shipping. My sample took about 6 days to reach their lab, then another 13 days for results. In all fairness, after I wrote to them several times they did tell me that there was a hold up in the lab facility, but this did take longer that the max 5 mentioned in the description. I can only hope that the results are accurate, and I wouldn’t know unless I am tested by my doctor’s office any time soon. Some of the results have changed since my last lab test, so yes, either I have new red flags, or this test is not the same as the ones done in the other labs. I can not claim there is anything wrong with these results, as values are different from lab to lab.
Also, the blood collection instructions are not very clear, especially for this heart health test, as there are two different collection envelopes, with some similarities, but different set of instructions. I obviously figured it out. I know how to read instructions, but this tested me a bit, to put it nicely.
Luckily I was in no hurry for my results, but just know that they may take longer than what is mentioned in their description.

I ordered this product almost 2 months ago was easy to use however, I still to this day have not received any results. I’ve reached out and contacted them about three times with no response. So beware if you’re thinking of using this product.

I love keeping one of these sets at home for when I am too lazy to get a check up. It is very easy to use and comes with all the instructions you need in the box. This home test was able to give me results quick and I was very impressed!

I purchased this test for my Dad. He’s always “too busy” to go to the doctor and has a terrible diet. This test helped us get an understanding of where his health was and what steps we needed to take next. His cholesterol level was high enough to help him make the decision to go to the doctor to get more information. He’s now on medication to lower his cholesterol levels and my family is extremely happy. The convenience of doing this first test from home was AMAZING!!
