This stayed cold my entire flight to Australia. I was worried about the return flight because I flew into LA where I had to collect my bags and go back through TSA for the final leg of my journey. No trouble at all, it was still partly frozen.

I bought this to carry some meds that needed to stay cold while traveling. The product works well but it seems you’re really limited to about 24 hours until that ice pack is fully melted. Everything still stays cool, particularly if you keep the unit with you. I wrapped my medicine in a paper towel first because I was worried that initially it might freeze my medication if it touched the cold pack. You figure out what you need to do for your particular meds. Anyway I took this and my medication both to Europe and Africa. It got through TSA in the US and other countries security as well. And stayed cold until I could refreeze it at my hotels.

This works exactly as advertised. I never used the emergency “ice water” bottle. But if I had any suggestion for improvement, I would put an opening for the ice water bottle on the side, so that you can put actual ice into it. I love that there is a thermometer included so you know how warm the bottle got. Even when one leg of my journey exceeded 48 hours, and I didn’t have a chance or possible opportunity to get ice water, my bottle never got warmer than 60 f. For my medication I think that was acceptable.

We bought based on so many positive reviews so we could keep insulin cool when we had have to be away from home for more than a few hours. We may have just received a dud. Using a completely frozen biogel (the blue one) and the can with us in about 70 degrees, the bottle lost all coolness in less than 4 hours. I thought it might be a fluke so I tried it again, and again…same results each time. So much for 60 hours. At 4 hours (dinner and a movie) the internal temp, according to the included thermometer, was up to 64. Needless to say, I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Hoping the vendor may replace it and provide one that actually works.

I bought this to travel with my diabetes medicine. I took it as a carry on in my purse. I had no issues at all getting through TSA, they just double checked to make sure the pack was actually frozen and not liquid. I will say though, I traveled internationally and has a slight issue coming home. I had to explain to them what it was, and that it was TSA approved and I needed it to keep my medicine cool. I was then scolded and told “TSA doesn’t work here”. So just make sure this would work at international airports. But at the the US airports, no issues at all, and I have used it several times.
2nd foot surgery in a year –
This was TSA compliant and a good size for traveling. I did not have any issues including this with my carryon during an international flight. It would appear that the blue freezer pack did not keep my medication as cold as a normal high quality water bottle filled with ice cubes would have. I will use my normal water bottle as the better option going forward. If you only need your medication kept cool for less than 24 hours, this could be a good option for you. Nice to have the thermometer included.
