The pill crusher part seems pretty lame, I was kind of expecting an herb grinder type of set up but it was literally just a plastic dome thing that you mash pills with… very lame…
The cutter part does indeed have a sharp blade hence it’s not a 1 star. However… the sharp blade is entirely exposed once you open the cap, there are no safeties at all, so overall this is quite the dangerous device…
If you’re getting this for an elderly relative, you really want to make sure there are tons of safety features. If you’re getting it for someone who has any mobility issues or twitches/ muscle spasms, also not a safe purchase.
And while sure you can hide it from kids if you’re getting it to cut pills for kids, the fact that the shape and design look so attractive to kids is also asking for a ton of trouble.
The blade is indeed very sharp, and the design does indeed look nice. However, this is way too dangerous a device for anyone who would functionally need it so I cannot in good conscience recommend this.
Get a pill cutter that keeps the blade away from hands bc this one is right out in the open ready to slice open some fingers…

This novel device provides two functions: Pill crusher and pill cutter. The entire thing is made of plastic, other than the pill cutter razor blade.
The pill crusher is OK. You unscrew the two halves, put the pills in the bottom, then screw the top back on. This works OK with very soft pills, but for harder pills, it’s hard to get them to pulverize with this device, and a traditional mortar and pestle is a much better idea.
The pill cutter is pretty average. But more importantly, the blade for the pill cutter is not shielded in any way, and it is easy to accidentally cut your finger if you are not careful. In fact, I slightly poked myself the first time I opened the cutting section. If you are very careful, this is probably OK, but anyone with fumbly fingers or who imagines this might be used by kids, should stay away or at least not use the pill cutter.
Overall, the pill smasher is adequate for soft pills. The cutter is mediocre and unshielded, and I would recommend instead getting a traditional pill cutter.
