At first lather, the scent is fantastic–but the lovely rose jamminess quickly dissipates into the smell of burning petrochemicals. I am quite serious about this — I was in a nice hot shower, and started smelling burning tires. It was so bad that I actually got out of the shower to sniff the hallway to see if there was a fire.
The packaging is TERRIBLE. I thought other people were overstating how bad it is. They’re not. The pump only dispenses a tiny amount, probably because it is so concentrated. But it’s so thick that it kind of dribbles out in a halfhearted wheeze, and you have to pump some more, and it is an exercise in frustration getting a decent amount on the poof. The rest of the bottle screams cheap, despite efforts at ornate and “klassy” embellishment, with flimsy plastic.
As for the soap itself — it’s meh. Nothing great, nothing terrible. This is marketed as both a hand and body wash (on the packaging, at least). The lather is fine for a hand wash, but even on a pouf it doesn’t really go all that far. or last that long. You keep having to put a little more on the pouf, enter that whole cheap bottle thing again. Yes, I know you don’t really need lots of lather. But if I’m spending $2.50 an oz, I really want something that smells great, soaps well, feels good and doesn’t feel like I’m battling the bottle every time I try to get a little soap out.

While it’s pricey- it reminds me of my vacation to Park City, Utah when we stayed at a 5 star resort and they had this in our room. The smell is so fresh and clean without being overly floral, and has a cedar finish that lingers- it’s an amazing smell for women or men and I love having this in our primary bathroom.

At $28, this was VERY pricey. The most expensive hand wash I’ve purchased to date. That said, I got the Lemon Verbena & Cedar, and OMG!!! Very luxurious scent! My only gripe is that this should’ve been in a glass bottle instead, given the price. I do love that it was carefully wrapped and had a plastic piece that secures the pump from disposing any of the soap during shipment. I absolutely LOVE this. It’s not overly strong and not too light either. This one is a keeper and not your “everyday” type of hand soap either. Save this for a special occasion. I know I will. Definitely money well spent. I am pleased.

I read a book about Jewish Rhodes before ww2 and it referenced a scent used there combining jasmine and orange blossom. I went on a quest to find a product combining those scents. I found this one with those and lilac added. I was smitten—I envisioned this soap as being the one used and it not only conjured up the lost time and place, it’s a lovely combination too. I intend to purchase more products with this combination.
