It’s very white coming out of the tube but rubs in clear. You have to be sure to rub it in thoroughly or you will see little white colored smudges around your face. I’m not sure why some are complaining about the smell – maybe they’ve now changed it. To me, it has a very faint “melon” smell when applying but it quickly goes away. It’s not greasy at all, no shine, nothing. I imagine it would be a good choice for any oily or acne prone faces since zinc is calming to the skin. It seems just as good without having to be a chemical sunscreen.

I specifically bought this for my face, because it is difficult to find something that is not over 40$, does not leave a white cast, does not sting your eyes if you sweat a little ,does not bead up your makeup,`,does not leave a film or greasy texture , does not have a fragrance, does not have harsh chemicals to ruin your face. This is as potent as 50 plus as far as I can tell. I have been using this for 2 weeks now .most of the time wearing makeup over it in the hot sun in Northern california, or working out with it on. It haves all of the things I look for in a sunscreen to use on my face!!! SO FAR SO GREAT !!! P,S. I got really bad sunburn a few weeks ago and was doused in 50 SPF sun block. Someone had purchased me the Sole sunblock as a gift so I gave it a try, even though it only says 40 SPF. This worked a million times better! It goes on easy even though it seems like a lotion, it rubs in very easily. I was at the beach all day and didn’t get nearly the amount of sunburn I got with other brands. I applied it once at the beach and once again a few hours later. I would definitely recommend. I liked it so much I decided to purchase more on Amazon. Enjoy!
