I just got it yesterday and made a lip balm and solid perfume. The honey scent is lovely. A little goes a long way and this simple lip balm recipe came on the bag. I used almond and castor oil with mango butter…so simple, so awesome. I put it on my whole face 😂 and it was absolutely wonderful. The solid perfume..scented oil and beeswax. Skin is loving it. Worth the money, you will love it.

This beeswax is awesome. Smells a little bit like honey. It really stabilized my Canna-body butter that I used it in. It melted nicely over a double boiler. It is hard to cut so I used my big cleaver knife, that worked well. This wax doesn’t feel heavy on my skin and doesn’t leave a wax film. I will be purchasing this beeswax again forsure!! I highly recommend Texas beeswax.

No, I’m not gonna type out any JAMC lyrics (I know, I know, it’s a dumb review name pun/reference, but I’m a dad joke kind of person) BUT, this is seriously amazing beeswax. It really smells like honey. If you can’t get a hold of any local beeswax where you live, DEFINITELY opt for this product!!!! Despite the added labor of cutting or grating it for us cosmetic/skincare DIYers, this yellow beeswax compensates for its bulky brick form with a FANTASTIC aroma that parallels the smell of local raw beeswax!!!! I’m not exaggerating, it actually smells like honey, as all other yellow beeswax that I’ve purchased in person does, and for some reason, all yellow beeswax I’ve purchased online, in both brick and pastille form, has had some sort of initial unpleasant aroma, but this is absolutely amazing 😉

It seems to be a fine product. Smelled nice while melting. I scraped off about an ounce to add to some beard balm and some mineral oil (for wood spoons) pored the rest into an 18 oz cleaned out candle jar. I guess I thought a pound would go farther for $22.00 The last time I bought paraffin wax for candles it was about this price for 10 lbs. but maybe I’m comparing apples to oranges.

First the con. It doesn’t smell like honey but rather a natural earthy almost a hay scent. I didn’t care about the scent as I am using it as part of the mixture for the coating of my beehive. The brick is very hard and hard to cut pieces from. But it’s all natural and does what I want. Also sourced from the good ‘ol US of A! Somewhat pricy. I’ve heard you can get cheeper but the reviews on cheaper stuff sounded like it wasn’t 100% pure beeswax. You want good quality beeswax this is it!

I bought this beeswax since its from my home state. It is another excellent product from this company. It’s a hard block, sticky and pliable in small pieces, and smells very natural for beeswax. I used a small portion of it to seal my cutting board and it did a fantastic job as expected.
This is not my first time working with beeswax. It melted in my “double boiler” very easily and turned into a very golden, honey color when melted. The consistency and handling was as expected as well.
Very nice quality beeswax. I look forward to working with it more soon. Thank you!

I do leather work on the side and as a past time, and I’ve bought the Texas Beeswax 1 LB blocks a couple of times in the past couple of years as I use it to mix with Neatsfoot Oil to make a rub for my leather work. LOVE the smell!!! When I finish a project, be it a messenger bag, laptop bag, holster or whatever, I use a light amount to rub into and moisturize the leather then buff it to a beautiful shine.
Pros:
Smells fantastic
Once mixed up with my other ingredients, it is super pliable and extremely easy to work with
Price is great when compared to size and how much use I get out of a single block. Still have wax paste from two years ago I’m using.
Cons:
Personally I don’t have any, but yeah cutting it is a bit challenging, have to use my round knife and score it and then break it down. But easy enough to do, then just microwave to melt in a hurry and it’s ready to go.
Again, I am so please that I found this that I think I may stock up on extra bars. Ordering another block next week and then maybe a block every couple of weeks.
Plus. I’m originally from South East Texas, so I support quality Texas businesses. If it’s from Texas, it HAS to be GREAT!!! Thanks Better Shea Butter for producing such a FANTASTIC product.
YES, I would definitely recommend this to a friend or anyone and YES, I will definitely buy it again!!!
