L-glutamine is an amino acid found in many foods and is the most abundant amino acid found in your body. However as we age our bodies may experience a slowdown in production of many needed biochemical processes and our food supplies have been compromised by process foods. Also over farmed land void of natural nutrients that do not show up in the food you eat to provide what is needed to produce the things it needs like this important amino acid come up short. So supplementation if needed per individual can make a healthy difference. So good supplement at good dosage of 1500mg.

This glutamine supplement is great for muscle recovery and strength. I’ve been using it after workouts, and even though I don’t exercise a lot, it helps with muscle soreness from everyday activities like walking or running. It’s from a well-known brand (Nugenix) and does exactly what you’d expect. For around $15, it’s definitely worth it.

I’ve been taking glutamine for years for bodybuilding purposes and more recently for its gut health benefits. I opened capsules from my previous brand and Nugenix and tasted the powders. Glutamine doesn’t have much of a flavor, but they seemed identical in flavor and texture. I had no issues taking these.
The Nugenix name might be familiar. I recall from them selling men’s testosterone boosters through GNC maybe 10 years ago, with TV commercials promising enhanced “drive, confidence and vitality”. I also recall some controversy about their products involving liver toxicity and dependency. The current products sold under the Nugenix brand appear to be much milder and more mainstream in their formulation. The brand/company appears to have changed ownership since then.

Nugenix is a well-trusted brand to bring great quality supplements with high-potency and low-fillers. I have been using the L-Glutamine for two weeks now, and I’m noticing some changes. First, I’m slightly gluten-intolerant, and have remained a gluten-free eater for the most part (except beer). However, since I’ve been taking L-Glutamine the last two weeks, beer doesn’t really give me a stomach ache anymore. Also, I’ve noticed a decrease of muscle soreness after workouts. However, I think I did develop a persistent cough, which is typical of L-Glutamine use. I highly recommend Nugenix’s L-Glutamine!

Even though this product is marketed as supporting men’s health, it’s a supplement that has benefits for many people. I am a woman who is working out and lifting weights, so I first became interested in L-glutamine hoping that it would help my muscles to function better and recover more quickly. However, I have learned that this supplement can help with recovery after surgery, too. That is definitely a bonus.
